The dystopian drama The 100 will be premiering its 7th Season later this week on May 20th on The CW in America. This is a much-awaited series since Jason Rothenberg, the showrunner confirmed last year that he was bringing the drama to an end. This will be a 16 episode season as was confirmed on Twitter in 2019.
A trailer was released by The CW earlier this month teasing the final outing, where it appears things are going to be coming full-circle while Clarke Griffin attempts to control the fallout on Sanctum after season six.
What can we expect to see in this Season?
The final series is supposed to be dealing with Octavia’s relationship with her brother Bellamy Blake, given their frequent fraught relationship. Also, there’s a hint the show could end with Clarke going back in time to stop the original nuclear holocaust. Adding on to that is Octavia appearing to be alive – or at least there’s a flashback where she and Diyoza were trapped together.
Will Clarke Griffin and Bellamy Blake continue their Emotional Journey?
So let’s address the biggest mystery of the post-apocalyptic series. The answer to this question is yes. Even after everything these two have gone through, the answer is yes. The longing glances, sacrificing others to save one another-together or apart, they say it all. As we know that from the beginning, the relationship between Clarke and Bellamy has been the main focus of this show. Now, as we move towards its hopefully epic conclusion, the viewers definitely deserve to see some kind of cathartic resolution, especially when it comes to the Bellarke dynamic.
What did they say about The 100?
Rothenberg posted on social media last year: “With #100 Season 6 finale just days away, I have some bittersweet news to share: Season 7 will be our last.”
“We are eternally grateful to WB & CW for always allowing us to tell our story the way we want to & to wrap the show on our terms. What an incredible ride this has been!”
Rothenberg also told the publication: “It’s much easier knowing (the show is ending).
