Motorola launched the Motorola One Action last week in Brazil. The smartphone features a unique industry first ultra-wide action camera. The Lenovo owned company has now announced that it will launch the Motorola One Action in India on August 23. The company sent out media invites for an event in New Delhi. It could be exclusive to Flipkart as the online retailer has launched a new page for the phone.
The Motorola One Action looks like any regular smartphone, but the difference lies in its third camera sensor. It’s a dedicated 16MP ultra-wide sensor with 117-degree field of view that can shoot videos like a Go-Pro. The “Action” tag in the name refers to the third camera sensor.
Apart from the super-wide field of view, Motorola rotated the camera and added a few tweaks. You can hold the handset vertically while the camera records video horizontally (and vice versa). The company has added a software-side algorithm calling it “Enhanced Video Stabilisation”.
Motorola One Action Specifications
The Motorola One Action sports a 6.3 inch FHD+ CinemaVision LCD display with a punch-hole cutout on the top left corner. It houses a Samsung Exynos 9609 coupled with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. There is a further memory expandable option with a microSD card. The other two sensors at the rear are ordinary sensors of 12MP and 5MP. It sports a 5MP selfie camera on the front.
The handset comes as part of the Android One program with Android 9 Pie and promises regular updates. It draws power from a 3,500 mAh battery supported by 10W charging. Additional features include NFC, 3.5 mm headphone jack, rear mounted fingerprint sensor and IPX2 water resistance.
The Motorola One Action was priced at €259 (Rs 20,500 approx) in Europe and Brazil. It has Denim Blue and Polar White color options. The upcoming smartphone is definitely bringing something new to the market. While many devices have triple camera setup, the One Action stands out with its action-camera like video quality on a smartphone.
