Motorola today launched its latest Android One smartphone, the Motorola One Action in India. The smartphone was unveiled in Brazil a week before. It comes with a unique industry-first ultra-wide action camera with the “Action“ tag in the name referring to the sensor.
The device comes with a triple camera rear setup but the third sensor is a special one. It is a dedicated 16MP ultra-wide sensor with a 117-degree field of view capable of shooting videos like a Go-Pro. The camera is rotated because of which you can hold the handset vertically while recording horizontally (and vice versa). It is equipped with a software-side algorithm called “Enhanced Video Stabilisation”.
Motorola One Action
The Motorola One Action sports a 6.3-inch CinemaVision LCD display. It has an FHD+ resolution of 1080×2520 pixels, 21:9 aspect ratio and a punch-hole at the top left the corner. It is powered by an Exynos 9690 chipset paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage with further expandable memory up to 512GB via a microSD card.
The other two sensors at the rear are ordinary 12MP and 5MP sensors. It has a 5MP selfie camera on the front placed at the display hole. The handset is released as a part of Android One program with Android 9 Pie meaning it has no ads, third-party software and will get regular updates. All this is backed by a 3,500 mAh battery with 10W charging. Other features include NFC, 3.5 mm headphone jack and IPX2 water resistance.
Price and Availability
The Motorola One Action is priced at Rs 13,999 in India. There will be two color options: Denim Blue and Pearl White and will go on sale via Flipkart on August 30 at 12 PM. As for launch offers Flipkart is giving 3 months no-cost EMI, Rs 1,000 discount on Axis bank credit and debit cardholders and a cashback of Rs 2,200 from Jio in the form of vouchers, along with an additional 125GB data.
At this price, it will be competing against mid-range smartphones the Mi A3, Realme 5 Pro, and the Redmi Note 7 Pro. But its unique ability to shoot videos like an action camera set it apart from the competition.
