The Redmi 8A has allegedly been revealed in all its glory. Real-life images of the upcoming budget smartphone from Xiaomi have surfaced online. A Xiaomi smartphone with model number M1908C31C appeared on TENAA a few days ago. It is believed that the smartphone is none other than the Redmi 8A making it the first device in its lineup with a dual-camera setup.
The images show that the Redmi 8A will have a dot-notch display and a shiny glass back. The smartphone seems to have a small chin with a Redmi logo. It looks very similar to the TENAA certified Redmi smartphone. However, the renders on the website were shown in black.
The device in the photos has a Red color with a black strip at the center. The long strip houses a dual-camera setup, fingerprint scanner and the Redmi logo. The LED flash resides on the top of the camera module while ‘designed by Xiaomi’ is etched below.
The Redmi 8A specs were also revealed from the images. It will be powered by Qualcomm’s 2.0GHz octa-core Snapdragon 439 paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage. It will run on MIUI 9.7.11 based on Android 9 Pie. The TENAA certified handset has a 6.2-inch HD+ (1520 x 720 pixels) display.
According to the listing, the device will be available in three variants. The lower variant has a 2GB + 16GB configuration while the mid variant has a 3GB + 32GB configuration. The device will also be available in a 4GB +64GB configuration. There is a microSD card slot and the memory can be expanded up to 512 GB. The dual-camera setup has a 12 MP primary sensor and an 8 MP secondary sensor. The phone draws power from a 5000 mAh battery.
The Chinese manufacturer is yet to give an official launch date for the launch of Redmi 8A. But looking at the recent leaks and rumors the launch is around the corner. We can expect a teaser from the company soon. Till then keep tuned.
