On the Record is a documentary movie directed by Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering along with Dan Gog an, Geralyn Dreyfous, and Jerry Raskin for Impact Partners. It presents the musical official star, Drew Dixon to approach to women who have been the victim of sexual abuse and harassment, and ask them openly blames Russell Simmons for molestation. Executive Producer, Oprah Winfrey withdrew from the documentary just before its release because of some creative differences.
The documentary follows Dixon, maker of hit records by 2Pac, Method Man, and Mary J. Blige along with accusers Sil Lai Abrams and Sheri Sher as they recount their time at Def Jam Recordings, and the struggle they went through in disclosing the sexual harassment news to New York Times, which reported Dixon’s accusations. The production house released the trailer of the documentary which shows Dixon feeling betrayed in going against Russell Simmons and betraying the Black Community. In a way, it proves that how black women have often been silenced when it comes to having #MeToo conversations.
