Paradox Interactive has extended its wings to Spain. It has built a new strategy studio in Barcelona under the name Paradox Tinto. This studio is reported to specifically focus on Europa Universalis 4. If you don’t know, Universalis is one of the best PC playable strategy games. Tinto is a follow up of Paradox Development Studio (PDR) but the former is most likely to focus on a new, attractive, and interesting strategy game.
A few years back, say a decade ago, this company had only a single studio to work on. Now, it has successfully inaugurated its 8th Studio in around 10 years. Forget not to mention, after starting off with Target Games, PI has now come a long way. Also, the new studio will be assisted by PDS creative director and designer of Europa Universalis 4 Johan Andersson.
Here’s what Andersson has to say about the new studio – “I am excited and grateful for this opportunity to build up a new studio in a new location, putting the knowledge accumulated through the decades of building games and development studios into good use,” said Andersson. “My goal is to assemble a team and create a fully functional studio to keep on developing the Europa Universalis brand, and later design and develop new grand strategy games.”.
Basically there are no agenda or plan that is released for the new studio. Will it work on extensions of games like Victoria is also a question. After the release of Victoria in 2010, whatever teaser Paradox releases, the gamers predict or rather anticipate for Victoria 3. This may or may not happen. Also, if the extension is true, whether the development will happen in the new studio or not is again a question.
At this point, it’s best to wait and watch!
