Risk of Rain 2 – Release Date, Gameplay and Features!

Risk of Rain 2 is a shooting game created by Hopoo Games and released by Gearbox Publishing. The game returns with an extra dimension. With randomized levels, monsters, bosses, and objects no run will ever be the same. Play alone, or team up with up to four mates to battle zombie armies, grab new loot and find a way to escape from the world.

Release Date

It was released in early access for Windows, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One in 2019. Now it will be publicly released on August 11, 2020.

Gameplay

Risk of Rain 2 takes a similar approach as of first game, in which one to four players must progress several different levels while destroying enemies. The objective is to find a teleporter at each level, randomly placed at the stage; once triggered, players have to protect themselves against an invasion by aliens, including bosses, before the teleporter is fully operational. Killing aliens is acquiring experience and currency; the currency can be used to unlock chests that drop objects randomly to rank.

Myriad survivors, items, monsters, and bosses are returning to Risk 2, and several new ones are entering the battle. New survivors like the Artificer and MUL-T will make their debut along with classic survivors like Engineer, Huntress, and also the Commando. With over 75 things to unlock and hack, each run has you cleverly strategizing your way out of awkward situations.

However, the power, complexity, and number of aliens increase every five minutes, making the game more challenging the longer the players remain on either point. Risk of Rain 2 features some of the same player characters, creatures, and items from the first game, but the interface moves from 2D to the 3D world.

Risk of Rain 2 has seen a series of improvements since its Early Access release introducing new player characters, levels, bosses, and items. The complete release in August would include the final stage of the game and the boss updates. The developer Hopoo will continue to add additional equipment and downloadable characters over the lifespan of the title.
