Samurai Shodown NeoGeo Collection is a compilation of games published by Digital Eclipse. It contains all six Samurai Shodown series titles initially released on the Neo Geo arcade/console platform. The series was first revealed at PAX East 2019 for an autumn 2019 date but was postponed for publication in 2020.
Samurai Shodown has established itself as the highest benchmark of sword fighting games since its release of 1993. A true institution, the SNK series has gained a strong reputation for its unusual gameplay mechanics and atypical atmosphere.
Release Date
Samurai Shodown NeoGeo Collection was released on June 11 for PC through the Epic Games Store, on June 18 for Steam, on June 28 for PlayStation 4 and will be digitally released on July 28 for Switch.
The set contains the Samurai Shodown, Samurai Shodown II, Samurai Shodown III, Samurai Shodown Amakusa, Samurai Shodown V, Samurai Shodown V Special, and Samurai Shodown V Perfect.
For those who ask what the heck Samurai Shodown V Perfect is, well, it’s an unreleased title that SNK fans never got, but still desired. The game features a brand new and ending plot, which is said to be Neogeo’s true-final release.
For each title, the series includes an online multiplayer, as well as a gallery featuring artwork, music, and other includes not yet described. Players will also be able to switch from each game to the Japanese and American versions.
