Developed by Frost Giant Studios, Stormgate is an upcoming highly-anticipated real-time strategy (RTS) game that has been teased and toted for what feels like years now. Stormgate is said to be a sequel to Warcraft III, StarCraft 2, and other well-known games of the genre. The game is being made by a studio that was established by former Blizzard employees like Tim Morten and Tim Campbell and they also have a different kind of feeling in terms of the RTS design experience.

Stormgate is said to be a strategy game that is set in a post-apocalyptic world. Just like the other games of this genre, players need to collect resources, build bases and troops, and update the assets. The game can be played for free with free and monetized content. The game has been made in such a way so that the complex genre can be accessed by new audiences along with giving an option of balanced and competitive one-on-ones for other advanced players.

Stormgate Release Date

Frost Giant Studios was formed by former Blizzard developers Tim Morten and Tim Campbell in October 2020. The studio aimed to bring a real-time strategy game. Morten has also served as the production lead in StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void and the campaign lead designer for Warcraft III: The Frozen Throen. They accumulated around $5 million in seed funding along with $5 million in March 2021. They also raised $23 million in January 2022 and the studio released Stormgate in June 2022. A closed beta is scheduled to be released sometime in 2023.
