The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope is an immersive thriller survival horror game created by the Supermassive Games and released by Bandai Namco Entertainment.

Release Date

The Dark Pictures Anthology is developed by the Supermassive Games as a collection of different games that tackle various themes and horror styles. The studio’s goal was to release each installation every six months, but this aim was missed. The game was first announced when Man of Medan was released in August 2019.

Publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment publicly revealed the game on 14 April 2020. The game will be available for Windows, PS4, and Xbox One on 30 October 2020.

Gameplay

Trapped and stranded in the desolate town of Little Hope, four college students and their teacher are unable to flee the nightmarish apparitions that unceasingly chase them across an impenetrable fog. They have to find out the motive behind these apparitions until the dark powers at work take their souls to death.

Across the game, the player has to choose between various dialogue choices that will affect the direction of the plot and the interaction between the protagonists. The game can be played several times, as several endings and different outcomes are depending on the choices taken by the players.

Based on the choices of the players, all characters might die at the end of the game. Action scenes mostly contain quick-time incidents, most of which, if skipped, will lead to disastrous consequences for characters.
