Developed and published by Nexon subsidiary Embark Studios, The Finals is an upcoming first-person shooter video Game. It focuses on team-based matches on environmentally destructible maps, where players are encouraged to use the dynamic environment to their advantage.

The Finals Gameplay

The Finals focuses on people participating in a virtual combat game show and it is common in holographic crowds that have been spotted inside the gameplay. The commentary given by the game has also revealed a lot of things and according to the developer Embark Studios, the game will take a lot of elements from The Hunger Games and Gladiator. The main mode, also called the base mode will feature players forming teams with three members and completing the given objectives. They also have to take the flag for themselves while the teams can control an entire area. The winner of the round will be the one who has collected a lot of money based on the cash-out value and other requirements like points, deaths, revives, and more. The stats would be displayed throughout the game while the players would take down the opponents and also complete certain quests. Gamers can obtain currency by finishing the quests that will help in the further progress of the game.

The player also gets the chance to choose characters as per their requirements and they have different abilities. The game is going to feature a huge collection of weapons, moves, and other features. Submachine guns can be used in the light builds. Healing beans can be used in medium builds and here tanks can also hit with abilities that are in the form of light machine guns and C4. The weapons and equipment won’t be limited to anyone. Heavy build can also use a sledgehammer but the Light build can opt to choose a knife. Medium builds can use a healing beam which can revive any team member. It also ignores the equipment that can leave an impact on things like mobility. The game mechanics also show the gameplay where there are a lot of variables like the terrain and weather conditions. There are a lot of things in the arena that can be used for different things and players can also pick up the things that have been thrown below by other opponents. The buildings can be easily destroyed and there are some temporary structures which will come into use at some point. A player will turn into a statue if he or she is killed and a defibrillator can be used to revive a player. The player can also decide to respawn themselves and this can be done with the limited respawn coins.

The Finals Release Date

In August 2022 for PC, the title was announced with console ports later unveiled for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S. Closed betas were operated at the beginning of 2023 but a release date was not revealed at the time.
