What is it about?
The official synopsis on Netflix goes like “The right to vote is at the foundation of America’s democracy. But not every vote is created equal. How does the system work, and can it be fixed?”
Even though the voting right is considered to form the foundation of America, the docuseries deals with everything that is wrong about the system. “Elections have been rigged in America’s history. But it’s the politicians who do it,” DiCaprio states in his report. Several factors affect the voting process- fraud at the ballot box, voter suppression, Electoral college, and several other defects.
Michelle Obama’s voter registration initiative called When We All Vote urges the youth to cast their ballots in the upcoming vote in November. “Register to vote”, “Pledge to be a voter”, “Request a ballot”, ‘your work can make a difference’, states the initiative taken by Michelle Obama.
