The Alienist: Angel of Darkness: Everything you need to know!

TNT is not only famous for its Snowpiercer but also The Alienist. Back in 2018, The Alienist attracted more than 50 million viewers. This series made the television network very happy. Immediately in August 2018, the network announced the renewal of The Alienist for another season. Now, after two years, we get a glimpse of the new show. What is the Cast of the Angel of Darkness?

The lead character set comprising of Daniel Bruhl, Luke Evans, and Dakota Fanning’s return for the new season also. Some of the inclusions made in the cast are Matthew Shear, Rober Ray Wisdom, Douglas Smith, and Ted Levine. They take up the roles of Lucius Isaacson, Cyrus, Marcus Isaacson, and Thomas Byrnes respectively. We don’t know the fate of season 1 stars Brian Geraghty and Matt Linz. However, new characters are up on the set- Rosy McEwen and Melanie Field. Their roles are not known. Brittany Batchelder who did a guest role in season one returns to the Angel of Darkness for a stronger role.

What about the Plot of Angel of Darkness?

Season one The Alienist is one of the successful shows of 2018. Caleb Carr’s crime novel in the same name formed the base of the series. Similarly, his new novel Angel of Darkness guides the new season.

“In The Alienist: Angel of Darkness, Sara has opened her private detective agency and is leading the charge on a brand-new case. She reunites with Dr. Kreizler, the formidable alienist, and John Moore, now a New York Times reporter, to find Ana Linares, the kidnapped infant daughter of the Spanish Consular. Their investigation leads them down a sinister path of murder and deceit, heading towards a dangerous and elusive killer. As in The Alienist, the series shines a light on the provocative issues of the era – the corruption of institutions, income inequality, yellow press sensationalism, and the role of women in society – themes that still resonate today” reads the official synopsis of the series according to TNT.

What can you expect in the New Season?

This time, detective Sara Moore is concerned with the kidnapping of the Spanish Delegate’s daughter Ana Linares. She obtains the required help from Dr. Kreizler who is the Alienist in the story. With his intelligence, he cracks the crime and finds the dangerous murderer. The Alienist was an Emmy winning show. The same expectations are fixed on the second part also. The book takes us back to 1897 and the show follows the same.

The show is a product of Paramount Television Studios. Angel of Darkness positions David Laffrey in the director chair and Alyson Feltes in the writer’s room. Stuart Carolan runs the show. Eric Roth, Cary Joji Fukunaga, Ben Rosenblatt, and Pavlina Hatoupis work as executive producers for the new season.

Angel of Darkness will appear on the channel on July 26, 2020. It will premiere at 9.00 pm on Sunday. Don’t miss it!
