OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro upcoming launch: Design, Specs and Launch Date

Published

on

OnePlus is all set to launch the OnePlus 7T and the OnePlus 7T Pro in the Indian market along with the much-hyped OnePlus TV. The leaks and rumors of both the phones are at an all-time high. From these, we already know the design and some of the specs. Let’s have a closer look at both of them.

OnePlus 7T

The OnePlus 7T is tipped to come with a 6.55-inch Quad HD AMOLED display with 19:5:9 aspect ratio, 90Hz refresh rate. A waterdrop shaped notch and an under-display fingerprint sensor is expected to be embedded on the display.

The OnePlus 7 came with an SD 855 chipset which leads us to believe the 7T will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ SoC. It could come with 6GB and 8GB RAM along with 128GB and 256GB storage.

The OnePlus 7T will step up from the dual cameras of OnePlus 7 and offer a triple camera setup. It is rumored to have a 48MP primary sensor paired with a 16MP and 12MP sensor. The device will be backed by a 3,800 mAh battery. It is expected to come in Frosted Silver and Haze Blue color options.

OnePlus 7T Pro

The OnePlus 7T Pro will be a new addition to the series and will be an upgraded version to the OnePlus 7 Pro. It is expected to sport a 6.67-inch Quad HD+ AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate, 3D Corning Gorilla Glass protection and an in-screen fingerprint sensor. It will have the same SD 855+ chipset with rumors about a 5G variant. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau did say that the company will release a new 5G handset in Q4 2019.

OnePlus 7T

The recent OnePlus 7T Pro case design leaks show a vertical camera module placed at the middle. There is a small hole at the base of the camera module which looks to be for the LED flash. But there is a second hole on the side which could be a Time-of-Flight sensor. The speculated configuration is a 48MP + 16MP + 12MP triple camera setup with some improvements including 960fps video. In the case, there is a separate cut-out at the top for its 16MP pop-up selfie camera. All this will be backed up by a 4,080 mAh battery.

Tipster Evan Blass also shared some sketches of a OnePlus device with a circular module. The sketches resemble a presentation slide leak from December 2018 and could be the 5G-model of the OnePlus 7T Pro. The company will also bring a OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition in partnership sports car manufacturer McLaren.

Price and Availability

According to tipster Ishan Agarwal (@ishanagarwal24), the OnePlus 7T and the OnePlus 7T Pro will launch in India on September 26. This has been confirmed by another leaker Max.J (@Samsung_News) who claims the US and EU launch date to be on October 10 with sales starting from October 15.

As for the pricing, OnePlus usually hikes the price with every T-series upgrade and is expected the same with the 7T series. The OnePlus 7T is still expected to retain a flagship killing price while the OnePlus 7T Pro will compete in the premium segment. The company is yet to make a formal announcement but we can expect an official teaser or announcement soon.
