Vader Immortal: The Star Wars is a three-part series that combines immersive film storytelling with interactive dramatic action. Explore the Darth Vader universe alongside Oculus Quest and Oculus Rift S.

Release Date

In a surprising announcement during the State of Play broadcast by Sony Interactive Entertainment, ILMxLAB has announced that Vader Immortal will be available for PlayStation VR from August 25, 2020.

Gameplay

Vader Immortal: The Star Wars VR Experience lets you walk into your own Star Wars adventure as a smuggler living near Mustafar, the fiery planet Darth Vader considers home. You find yourself uncovering an ancient secret at the behest of the Sith Lord himself as you’re randomly taken out of hyperspace.

The title also features the well known Lightsaber Dojo modes, where gamers will spend hours enhancing their skills with classic lightsabers, and more in Vader’s practice dojo.

Three Episodes

Episode 1:

You’re going to need the Force to survive the journey ahead.

Step through a world, go deep, and witness the story of the first Star Wars planned specifically for VR. Descend alongside new allies into the dark castle of Darth Vader and encounter formidable foes like the Sith Lord himself. Be at the center of a story wherein you hold the key to the salvation or destruction of the galaxy.

Episode 2:

He’s not going to be denied.

Start the adventure through the heart of Darth Vader’s grim castle in Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Experience-Episode 2. With the formidable Sith Lord as the mentor, you must refine your lightsaber abilities against frightening new foes and master the Force while you uncover the truth of an ancient secret underneath Mustafar’s fiery earth.

Episode 3:

Embrace your destiny.

Start your quest in Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Experience-Episode III. You’ll raise an army with an ancient lightsaber at your side and the Force as your ally, and unleash an all-out attack on the stronghold of Darth Vader. Fight the stormtroopers’ soldiers and a vicious Imperial officer before facing off against the dark lord himself in a lightsaber battle which will decide the fate of Mustafar.

ILMxLAB is producing the PlayStation VR version alongside Black Shamrock. Technology can be difficult and tricky in normal circumstances. Adding to the challenge a pandemic and shelter in place lead to the difficulty of another dimension. However, the staff worked hard to create an environment that would not disappoint everyone.
