A Total War Saga: Troy – Release Date and Gameplay

A Total War Saga: Troy is the first award-winning tactic franchise. This centers on the Greek Bronze Age and the historical 20-year war between the Kingdoms of Troy and Mycenaean Greece,

TROY is the current Total War Saga title; influenced by Homer’s Iliad, it centers on the historic flashpoint of the Trojan War, expanding the series with modern, period-based elements.

Release Date

A Total War Saga: Troy will be released on 13 August 2020. It’s going to be exclusive to the Epic Store for the first year, and Epic is going to give it away within the first 24 hours.

Gameplay

Combining Total War’s unusual combination of massive, turn-based empire control and thrilling real-time fighting, TROY tackles this monumental war from both the Greek and Trojan viewpoints – peeling back the layers of myth and mythology to expose the facts that may have inspired them.

The battle is going to take place around the Aegean. The geographical area covered is less, but the map would be equivalent to Rome 2.

Play as one of the eight prominent Heroes, and fight to capture or defend the mythical kingdom of Troy. Each hero has unique skills, arms, units, and strategic locations on the map.

The Homeric Epic, The Iliad, is the primary source, so you will pursue the road of literature if you are so inclined to join a massive army of Greeks, chase after Paris so Helen, and finally beat Troy. Yet depending on which of the eight factions you select, things may be done very differently.

When you play on the other team, maybe as Hector, the prince of Troy, you should forget everything about doing your old man ‘s bidding and taking Troy on yourself. And just get in a boat and head to Greece, cutting off the rivals before they set out.

Beyond the campaign goals, characters would be free to perform their epic journeys. Of one, Odysseus gets to go on his famed Odyssey, carrying him back and forth to Troy while he battles off his wife’s suitors. Completing these missions is going to provide heroes with mythical weapons and other perks, such as the son of Odysseus joining the fray as the new hero.
