SatyarthJames Cameron is all set to follow his age-old tradition by breaking the Box Office records again, this time it is the second instalment of his own sci-fi project Avatar (Go Blues? no! not that one).
Cameron, when asked about the delays, stated:
“I wouldn’t call them delays. It was highly optimistic that we could start quickly until scripts are written. If there are no scripts, there’s nothing, right? The scripts took four years. You can call that a delay, but it’s not really a delay because from the time we pushed the button to really go make the movies [until now,] we’re clicking along perfectly. We’re doing very well because of all the time that we had to develop the system and the pipeline and all that. We weren’t wasting time, we were putting it into tech development and design. So when all the scripts were approved, everything was designed. Every character, every creature, every setting. In a funny way, it was to the benefit of the film because the design team had more time to work. . . . Most of the actors, the key principals, have all read all four scripts, so they know exactly what their character arcs are, they know where they’re going, they know how to modulate their arc now across the first two films,”. ‘Avatar,’ was released in 2009 and there has been a long gap since.
Timeline behind the production:
Cameron, in 2006, stated, if the first instalment is successful he would continue making ‘Avatar’ for two more sequels. After the release of ‘Avatar’, in December 2009, Cameron confirmed the sequel to the movie. The sequels were dated to release in 2014 and 2015. In 2011, Cameron stated that the live-action shoots of the sequels would take place in 2014, and would also use a higher frame rate to capture the film more realistically. In 2016, Cameron, on a chair at CinemaCon, announced four sequels to the movie to be released in 2018,20,21 and 23, but due to the writing process, changes in location and off-course the Covid-19 pandemic, the dates were further shifted to 2021,23,24 and 2025.
When will ‘Avatar 2’ finally release?
‘Avatar 2’ entered production on August 15, 2017. The movie will release worldwide on December 17, 2021. ‘Avatar 3’ also started its principal photography simultaneously on September 23, 2017.

What do we expect from this installment?
In 2012, Cameron stated that the sequels were being written as “separate stories that have an overall arc inclusive of the first film, with the second having a clear conclusion instead of a cliffhanger to the next film.”
As we know, Cameron is an avid documentarian of the underwater-world and has made numerous documentaries about seas and oceans, ‘Avatar 2’ contains a lot of exploration of the underwater-world and Cameron himself has designed the whole pandora for the underwater plots. The shoot has occurred in ‘Marianna Trench’. The production has used “under-water motion capture technology” and it will be the first movie to do so. The cast members will be retained and new ones will also be added, the sequels will feature Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana and Sigourney Weaver, alongside new cast members Kate Winslet, Vin Diesel, Jermaine Clement, Michelle Yeoh and Edie Falco.
That's a wrap, Na'vi Nation! 💙
It's our last day of live-action filming in 2019, and we're celebrating with a sneak peek. 👀

I do not hate people, but I despise their existence. Hi, I’m an actor, writer, poet, visual artist, a man of science and also the least favourite person in my family. Our beloved Hemingway, once said "There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed." I believed in this quote humbly, truly and faithfully, now I have Anemia. I hope you like my works and if you do then please tell the President about it (seriously, all we want is fame).
