Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Gaming Phone unveiled in China, India launch soon!

Xiaomi has lately launched its latest gaming phone, i.e. the Black Shark 2. Notably, its successor to the previously launched Black Shark Helo gaming phone. The Black Shark 2 enriches every feature that we’ve been seeing and liking on the prior generations of the line-up. Main highlights of the handset comprise of an AMOLED display, Snapdragon 855 SoC and liquid cooling.

Xiaomi Black Shark 2: Specifications, Features

The Black Shark 2 boasts a 6.39-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with a 1080×2340 resolution. The screen further touts a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 403ppi of pixel density.

As mentioned above, the device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. Whereas, Adreno 640 GPU handles the gaming duties. That said, the device will be available in four variants with RAM expanding up to 12GB.

As for the optics, Black Shark is equipped with a dual rear camera arrangement on the back. The module comprises of a 48-megapixel primary Samsung sensor. There is also a 12-megapixel secondary unit with an f/2.2 lens. The rear camera arrangement provisions 2x optical zoom. For selfies, the device has a 20-megapixel sensor at the front along with an f/2.0 lens.

As a successor to previous Black Shark, the Black Shark 2 arrives with a list of some new technologies. There’s Liquid Cool 3.0 for enhanced heat dissipation, and True View Display to convey uplifted imaging. There is also present for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Elite Gaming for the enhanced gaming experience.

Xiaomi Black Shark 2: Pricing and Availability

The 6GB RAM+128GB Storage variant of the phone is valued at CNY 3199 (approximately 32,700 INR). There are two variants under 8GB RAM, one is 8GB RAM+128GB variant at CNY 3499 (about 35,776 INR), and another one is 8GB RAM+256GB Storage variant at CNY 3799 (approximately 38,844 INR). The high-end 12GB RAM+256GB Storage variant is priced at CNY 4199 (about 42,934 INR).

Xiaomi Black Shark 2 India Launch

As for the Indian launch, the company is definite that they will be launching the Black Shark 2 in India. But, the timeline for that isn’t confirmed at the moment. Note that Black Shark 2 will go on sale from March 22, 2019, in China. And we expect it to arrive by April here in India. Price will stay competent, more or less similar to the Chinese pricing.
