Redmi Note 7 Pro Price Revealed by CEO: Could be around Rs 21,000

Xiaomi is all set to launch the highly anticipated Redmi Note 7 Pro smartphone next week in China. Just a while after the company announced the date for the same, Redmi’s President Lu Weibing came up with an extensive hint for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro Price.

While replying to a query on his Weibo post, Weibing claimed that the Redmi Note 7 Pro price would be around CNY 2,000 in China. The reply roughly translates to “if the budget is of CNY 3,000 (roughly Rs. 31,800) or above, the customer can pick Mi 9. However, if it’s CNY 2,000 or less, the choice should be the Redmi Note 7 Pro.” On the contrary, the previous assumptions suggested the device to be priced around CNY 1499 in China.

To recall, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 was launched in China at CNY 999 (roughly Rs. 10,390) for the 3/32GB RAM and storage model. On the other hand, the 4GB RAM / 64GB storage and 6GB RAM / 64GB storage variants of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 were launched at CNY 1199 (roughly Rs. 12,460) and CNY 1399 (approximately Rs. 14,540) in the country, respectively.

An estimated price tag of CNY 2000 for the Chinese market roughly translates to somewhere around Rs. 21,000 for India. Given that the company is already offering Poco F1 with Snapdragon 845 under Rs. 20,000 in India, the Redmi Note 7 Pro’s price seems to be on the higher side. That being said, the base variant of Note 7 Pro is speculated to reside somewhere in the 15-20K territory in India.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro Specifications (Expected)

Talking of the Redmi Note 7 Pro Specifications, the device is tipped to pack Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 SoC coupled with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. As confirmed during the Note 7 launch, the Note 7 Pro will feature Sony’s IMX586 sensor having a 48MP resolution. Note 7, on the other hand, incorporates Samsung’s 48MP Isocell GM1 sensor.

Interestingly, a recent teaser by Redmi suggested that the Note 7 Pro might bear an in-display fingerprint scanner. The handset will reportedly pack a 4,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. The company has announced the Redmi Note 7 India launch on Feb 28. The Pro is also suspected of sharing the stage with the same. Stay tuned.
